Sing better, shine brighter, and get your art done.

Voice, Creativity, & Productivity Coaching with Jess Baldwin

Which one feels like you?

“I don’t know how to incorporate who I am into my art, and I’m not sure what to make.”

“I have tons of ideas about what to make, but I can’t seem to get anything finished.”

“I think my voice might have more potential, but I don’t know how to access it.”

Hey there. I’m Jess.

And I’ve been there.

After completing two music degrees that didn’t really teach me how to create my own sound, bring my own sparkle into my work, or manage my own projects (most music degrees don’t), I had to go on my own journey to figure it all out while also learning how to honor my nervous system and neurotype.

I finally found my sound, my artistic voice, and my creative flow, and I’ve used the best of what I learned to help artists all over the world do the same.

What makes True Colors unique?

  • Different styles require different training. Classical training will NOT prepare you to sing any style. That’s some white supremacist nonsense.

I’m so passionate about this truth that I’ve been teaching it since 2017 at the internationally-renowned CCM Voice Pedagogy Institute.

So if you want to sing popular music, that’s what we’ll work on. No opera necessary.

  • You need freedom and play to create, but you also need structure and a bird’s eye view.

Project management and executive function are skills of their own that can be learned, and they’re what help your creations get from your dreams into reality.

I’ve taken multiple courses in project management, and I love curating tools and best practices for each individual’s needs.

  • Being an authentic artist doesn’t mean finding the “one true you.” You’re way more interesting than that.

As Whitman says, “Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)”

The Internal Family Systems framework is my favorite way to make space for this reality.

I’ve studied IFS extensively to bring its compassionate, welcoming energy to all parts of you.

  • ADHD, Autism, and CPTSD are very common in the arts. And so are the crappy ways of working with them.

I know that guilting and shaming and scaring ourselves to the finish line might work sometimes, (been there), but the emotional cost is never worth it.

There are kinder, more loving ways to finish projects and be ourselves.
